Wild Weather in Melbourne

Melbourne is looking pretty bad this morning thanks to a good dose of wind and rain yesterday and last night. On the way in to work this morning I passed many tree branches, and a couple of entire trees which had blown over during the night. The water level in the Yarra was the highest I have ever seen it, and a caller on the radio said it was full of debris which had been washed into it during the rain. There are severe disruptions to both the train and trams due to line damage, power issues and flooding. There are also several railway crossings where the boom gates are stuck in the down position preventing road traffic from getting through.
Hopefully the disruptions won’t last too long.
