Its not often you see the government doing something good.
35-hour week proves a winner in France.
In a nutshell, the article says that for companies of 20 employees or more no worker is allowed to work more than 35 hours in a week. (The article fails to mention companies caught having employees work more than 35 hours are fined.) The results of this are falling unemployment, a happier workforce, and the economy is flourishing.
I won’t get up on a soapbox, but people working excessive hours is definatly one of the major social problems in this day and age. It would be great to see the Australian government put a similar law in place to help keep the occupants of .au sane.
